Greeks get new primary school
Dusseldorf - Many years have fought for parents of Greek primary school children at a school under one roof. The classes are divided into three doctrines in different streets.
The highlight of the anger was a school strike in May because of wet container classes (EXPRESS reported). Now, children can come look: you finally get a new school.
Only when the parents' protest of the large Greek community in Dusseldorf also reached the government in Athens, became the Consul General Katja Georgiou under pressure.
"With the help of the city," said the secretary of the diplomat, "is a permanent solution has been found." How and where he would not say, because "contractual issues had not been resolved."
But EXPRESS found out: The school is formed at the Mettmanner Road 16 in the building of the former state environmental agency.
Parents spokesman Nicholas Papadopoulos: "I would indeed allow the Consul General with its planned public statement precedence, but I can not disagree. The solution is found. My mission and the others finally had success. "
The anger of the parents had gotten bigger, because it was paid to the Essen Road rent for classrooms, which were indeed restored, but then not returned to the children.
Even teachers were upset. You always had to go there and roam between classes at the Essenes, the Roland Street and the Werstener field. The new school will be established at the end of the year. Gradually, all classes will then stretch.
